How daylight photodynamic therapy works
Daylight Photodynamic Therapy involves the application of Metvix cream which is absorbed by abnormal or damaged skin cells. Once absorbed, the cream is chemically converted into a compound which makes the cells reactive to light. It works in much the same way as traditional
Photodynamic Therapy but instead of an LED light, sunlight is used to activate the cream. In doing so, Daylight Photodynamic Treatment becomes a much faster, simpler and comfortable treatment than its traditional counterpart.
This ground breaking results-driven treatment targets sunspots and sun damage and is suitable for large areas of skin across the entire body. Additionally, it’s a wonderful treatment option for addressing redness, acne, pigmentation and large pores. Daylight Photodynamic Therapy can effectively breathe new life into areas of aged skin that have been challenging to treat in the past—such as the décolletage, arms, hands and legs. It’s a fantastic and effective alternative to surgery with minimal side effects and down time.
